Dropfile policies

Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the basic rules for using Dropfile's temporary browser-to-browser file sharing service.

Effective September 19, 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By creating or using a Dropfile link, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. How the service works

Dropfile coordinates temporary peer-to-peer transfers between participating browsers. The sender and downloader must remain online while a transfer is active. File bytes are designed to travel between participating devices rather than being uploaded to permanent Dropfile storage.

Links, passwords, availability windows, and peer connections do not guarantee delivery, recovery, or permanent access.

3. Your responsibilities

You must have the legal right to share every file you select. You are responsible for the file, the people who receive the link or password, and compliance with applicable laws.

  • Do not share pirated movies, music, software, games, books, or other copyrighted works without permission.
  • Do not share malware, stolen data, intimate material without consent, child sexual abuse material, or content that facilitates crime or abuse.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or misuse the service or other users' devices.

4. Expiration and availability

Expiration prevents new downloads from starting after the selected time. A transfer already in progress may be allowed to finish. Dropfile may be unavailable because of browser limitations, network conditions, maintenance, security controls, or circumstances outside the operator's control.

5. No warranty

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no guarantee is made that transfers will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or suitable for any particular purpose. Keep your own original copy of every file.

6. Changes

These terms may be updated as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
